As a writer, architectural historian, and urban planner, photographer; I find photography to be an important tool in my storytelling. My still photographs are an integral part of my work as a children’s book author. Hand in hand with a simple, straightforward text, they showcase what is often overlooked by adults as well as children in our hurried, complicated lives—our beautiful surroundings!
Likewise as a director, I use photography as a vital frame of reference for developing ideas for shots as I work closely with cameraman Chuck Clifton in the actual filming of all three of my documentaries.
