Urban Animals and Buildings Stories–both selected for the Reading is Fundamental (RIF) 2015 Multicultural Collection–are among the 39 books chosen to encourage children’s interest and learning in topics ranging from the arts, history and social issues to science, technology and engineering.
Isabel Hill is honored and excited to be included in a collection that focuses on reaching at-risk and underserved children. Each book was vetted by children’s literacy experts, and comes with accompanying Common Core-aligned learning resources and activities for parents, teachers, and caregivers to deepen students’ engagement with the texts. The Multicultural Book Collection and its companion activities are an integral part of the landmark Read for Success research study and program model. RIF will distribute the collection to schools and organizations across the country throughout 2015 and 2016 .
